BMW R-Series description

How about a completely original BMW for Christmas ?
Hi and thank you for checking out this listing. Please send questions  and I will try to answer as quickly as possible.
I am selling my 1973 airhead toaster. The only reason I am willing to part with this beautiful machine is , because I just bought a R90s .
The bike is in original condition .It is not restored . This is the real thing.  Never been painted or laid down. It has matching numbers . Except for a few scratches its in perfect condition. The green metallic paint stands out and it makes this bike like a time capsule. Its like your right back in the 70s. I get a lot of compliments on the bike from people that know bikes , but I get a lot of compliments also from people , who see this bike just like the sign of the time it really is. The toaster tanks and the long wheel base make this a unmissable 70s airhead.
The pin stripes are in perfect condition. Frame and chrome is perfect. The seat is like new and lets you ride  for hours without getting tired.
Mechanically is where this bike really shines. It is strong and smooth. Reliable and never let me down. It does not smoke or drip oil. You have optional electric or kick starter .I just replaced the steering lock and added a trickle charger. I have the original tool roll and the original BMW mechanics rag with the bike. Also the air pump works and is included.. The tires are almost brand new and the battery is a month old.I am not sure if there are many more toasters in this good and this original condition out there. Too many are getting butchered and chopped up in the Cafe Racer craze.
This is a true survivor and as good as they come.To the best of my knowledge the mileage as listed is true. I am the third owner and its always been a California bike. There is zero rust on this bike.
The only things that this bike could use if you wanted to make it 100% again is a repair to the tachometer. It stopped  working a long time ago. The speedometer and odometer are working flawlessly.
I set a fair reserve looking at the other bike being offered. If you are looking for a cheep airhead , this is not it. If you are looking for a all original survivor , you have found it.
Good luck bidding.

Aprilia Takes a Shot at BMW [video]

Tue, 22 Jun 2010

The very successful viral video BMW created for its S1000RR sportbike earlier this year has yet again been made fun of by another manufacturer, this time being Aprilia with their RSV4.  Now I am sure its not going to get the same amount of attention as the BMW spot but I love a good cat fight, hopefully BMW will respond…  stay tuned. The BMW-Powered Recumbent Motorcycle

Wed, 24 Jul 2013

As a lover of two wheels, I like to pedal my bicycle to stay in shape when I’m not riding a motorcycle. And in the bicycle world, much like the motorcycle world, there’s a subset of riders who often get snarky looks from the rest of us. Few are more polarizing than those riding recumbent bicycles — you know, the ones where you’re practically laying down while pedaling.

Please BMW: don't build this

Wed, 05 Aug 2009

BMW have taken a rapid step in the right direction, what with their K1300S, S1000RR and F800R. Recently rumours have been flying around that BMW are to produce a scooter, possibly a hybrid. And while we know it's well within their means, we'd rather they concentrated on the sharpening the cutting edge of road bikes.
