BMW Other description

Up for sale is my 2011 BMW R1200GS. Unfortunately I have no time to ride, and this great motorcycle would be better served by someone with more free time on their hands. I own the bike, free and clear - with title in hand. It is in terrific shape, practically brand new. The bike has the standard suspension. The warranty is good until September 2014 (or 36,000mis, whichever comes 1st). 24 hour roadside assistance is included in the warranty, too. This bike only has 2,211 mis (the mileage may increase a little bit if I have any time to ride before it is sold) and includes the following options: ESA II (Electronic Suspension Control).Heated handlebar grips. On Board Computer.Integral ANTI LOCK BRAKES II.Saddle bag mounts.Cross spoke wheels.Hand Protection.Cylinder Head Protectors.BMW Motorrad Navigation IV GPS (wired directly to the battery). Any questions please let me know and I will answer as quickly as possible. XXXX@hotmail.com

Previously available as part of BMW’s factory-installed Safety Package option, the Dynamic Traction Control system will now be standard on all 2015 K1600GT and K1600GTL models. The system continuously monitors rear wheel traction during acceleration, stepping in when it senses excessive wheel spin.

NHTSA Proposes Minimum Sound Standards for Electric Vehicles

Tue, 08 Jan 2013

For years now, the motorcycle industry has had to design its motorcycles and their exhaust systems to stay below government-mandated sound levels, particularly with off-road motorcycles. The burgeoning electric vehicle industry may bring about the opposite now, with governments proposing minimum sound levels for the mostly silent-running electric cars and motorcycles.
