1985 Bmw K-series on 2040-motos
BMW K-Series tech info
BMW K-Series description
Runs
and looks great. Very rare, all original bike…very collectable. First year in
the US…it has the sought after FYK high-power engine with "hotter" European
cams (March 1984). The appearance is really stunning. Has the natural color
motor and drive train that really shows off the beauty of the design. These
bikes are quickly climbing in value. Wish I could keep it, however, we're moving. This
original bike is a one owner. I bought the bike from the original owner's
grandson. He never got it running. It appears the original owner disabled the
bike at some point by removing some fuses and switching the spark plug wires. The
title is still in the original owner's name. I have all the original equipment
and accessories plus a great BMW tank bag with extension and rain cover. It was last on the road in 1989! After
I got it, the following was done… • New
Bosch fuel pump and filters kit (see pic) • New
fuel lines • New
pressure regulator • Fuel
injectors ultrasonically cleaned and tested by Mr. Injector • Gas
tank cleaned • New
Spark plugs • New
front and rear tires: Continental • All
drive shaft splines greased • New

brake fluids • New
front and rear brake pads • New
rear brake master cylinder This
K100RS now runs great! Starts right up, idles smooth and runs very strong. I
put over 330 miles on it. It's a fast bike! Brakes are firm and strong. Shifts
easy and smooth. All electrical parts are working. See it run, go to YouTube and search for: yX_WBpu2Zcc Cosmetics are very good. The tank is perfect. Fairing has a few nicks here and there. There is a raspberry on the right side engine cover. The bike currently shows 16,200 miles. However, the dealer documentation show the odometer was replaced at 8,181 miles. Therefore, the bike has 24,381 actual miles. Almost all early K bikes had odometers failures. Included
in this Auction… • Original
title with open signature • Original
tool kit • Original
tire repair kit (never used) • Original
Owner's manual and documents • Service

There
is a leaky right fork leg that I never attempted to fix it. There is a crack in
the lower portion of the radiator cover. Also, a very small oil leak at the oil
filter…I was planning on a second oil change so I didn't replace the oil filter
o-ring. I had hoped to do the second oil change by now, but that didn't happen. I
have a clean title and it is ready to go! This is a no reserve auction, so high
bidder takes it. Check my approval rating, I’m a legitimate seller! If you have
no rating, contact me first. No fooling around. I will need $200 down payment
within 48 hours. No ending the action early. Shipping is up to you, but you can
contact me if you need help. Bike is in Union, KY just south of Cincinnati, OH.
Contact me with questions. Good
