I would not, could not, ride a BMW C1

As the chair of this session I will start. On my walk to work this morning I got beeped at by BMW's C1 scooter whilst crossing the road. This, my most detested mockery of two-wheeled transport, beeped at me for no reason whatsoever but what angered me more was the pitiful horn the BMW has, it was a roadrunner like ‘meep’.

The Netherlands hosted a dramatic weekend of World Superbike racing that featured a red-flagged wet race, several riders crashing while leading, a first-time race winner, a photo finish between two teammates and the reigning World Champion finishing out of the points because of a poor choice of tires. The 2011 WSBK Champion Carlos Checa arrived at Assen with the lead in the championship and a three-race winning streak, but opting to run wet tires in Race Two cost him the lead and may have contributed to a crash that severely injured Liberty Racing‘s Brett McCormick. 2009 BMW S1000RR Entering Production

We’re finally able to share some pictures and info about the production version of BMW’s new literbike, the S1000RR. We now know that it has a claimed dry weight of 403 pounds, which should be competitive with its Japanese literbike rivals. The all-new inline-Four powerplant displaces 999cc, and its cylinder head is said to be very narrow and compact, with the valves actuated by “very small” cam followers that are nearly at Formula 1 levels in size.
