World of BMW 2011 activity dates

WORLD OF BMW has announced the companies calendar of events, tours, courses and adventures for 2011.The schedule can be seen in a new 48-page World of BMW 2011 Activity Brochure now available from Carole Nash Motorcycle Live and BMW Motorrad dealerships.BMW Off Road SkillsDakar Rally competitor Simon Pavey and his team of instructors are on hand to deliver courses for those looking to expand their off-road horizons can get their kicks crossing the Welsh wilderness on the Brecon Beacons Adventure, or blasting across the Algarve on the Portuguese Paradise trip. And for 2011, BMW has added the new G 650 GS single-cylinder adventure-sports bike to the fleet. Motorcycles at the 2009 Frankfurt Auto Show

Two weeks ago, I took a break from my regular duties gathering news for Motorcycle.com to fly to Germany to cover the 2009 Frankfurt Auto Show for our sister site AutoGuide.com. For two hectic days, AutoGuide editor Colum Wood and I scrambled across the massive 6.2 million square foot Messe Frankfurt trade fair compound, running from press conference to press conference to get the latest on exotic sport cars, futuristic concept models and international unveilings from the automotive world. It was heaven for car lovers, but for me, it meant fighting my way through hordes of photogs, auto-journalists and car show models to get the first photos of four-wheeled goodies from MINI, Ferrari and Lotus.

2013 BMW F800GS and F700GS Side Stand Switch Recall Expands to US

Last month, we wrote about a recall in Canada for the BMW F700GS and F800GS because of a problem with the side stand ignition cut-off switch. As we expected, a similar recall has now been announced for the U.S. market.
