Aprilia RS125 description

Up for sale is my loved 2000 Aprilia RS125. It's the full street version from the factory with a 17 Digit VIN and a clear NC title in my name. Having young infants, is the reason for sale.
I've owned the bike for several years and have thoroughly enjoyed riding it while restoring it. Much of the bike has been improved or restored. To list a few:

Total engine rebuild, including ALL bearings, seals, gearbox forks, bearings, piston, water pump, crank.........
Total rebuild of rear suspension (bearings, seals) with an upgraded YSS shock.
New front brakes and rotor
New coolant hoses
Battery
The list goes on and I have thousands in receipts. All work recorded.

There is a full Tyga exhaust system fitted and it sounds fantastic. The bike is a blast to ride and is very light and handles amazingly. This is a high performance 2 -stroke and does require a certain mechanical understanding for maintenance as they are highly strung, which is what makes them so much fun to ride.
It's not perfect as there are some scrapes / scratches here and there, but it's a clean bike and overall very good looking. The engine rebuild was performed about 500 miles ago and it was properly run in and is very quick. Currently it has 16320 Km / 9800 miles.

This is a very rare model in the US and not one of the usual converted track bikes. Please contact me with any questions and I'll get back to you ASAP. Many thanks for looking and good luck.

Piaggio Announces 2011-2014 Business Plan – More Hybrids and Electric Models In the Pipeline

Wed, 14 Dec 2011

The Piaggio Group revealed its business plans for the next three years with a focus on developing fuel efficient engines and introducing new electric motors and hybrid powertrains. Beginning in 2012, Piaggio plans to introduce a new generation of engines with lower emissions and improved fuel economy. Examples include the new 350cc engine introduced in the Piaggio Beverly SportTouring and the fuel-injected 125cc four-stroke, three-valve engine equipped in the Vespa Quarantasei concept (which the company has apparently, and quietly, renamed as the much easier-to-pronounce Vespa 946).

Back from the Ulster GP

Just rocked home after a really good cross-country blast home from Birkenhead docks. The VFR developed a weird hiccup this morning in Belfast on the way to the Norfolkline ferry terminal and occasionally feels like it’s suffering from fuel starvation – like a blocked fuel tank breather or something – but only around 2,000rpm and only now and again. It’s not consistent and the only way round it is to dip the clutch and give it a few blips and then it seems to clear its throat.
